It happens for a reason

It's been a while, I know. My life has had it's ups and downs lately. There are nights where I feel like I can do anything and there are nights like the one I had last night. I was feeling sad for no apparent reason. But it's all good. These things happen. It's called being a teenager and having feelings. It's holy week and I have the whole week off. So I've decided to take this boring Monday to just write a little.

I'm taking this week and I'm tweeting as less as I possibly can. My life is good enough without having to constantly read tweets from people that can only make me feel inferior. I need to feel good about myself, and lately Twitter hasn't really helped. It's why I've backed away from it. Everything happens for a reason doesn't it? Well, my cellphone's screen cracked yesterday when I dropped it at church and my phone is no longer working. God must be telling me something. This week, I'm going to put my mind to work. I want to be creative, I want to do things that don't involve sitting infront of the computer screen all day. Wake up earlier than I usually would, enjoy nature, have some "me" time. A few weeks ago, I visited a church with a large youth group. I felt accepted and comfortable in the environment. The people in that room reminded me of myself and who I want to be. You would never imagine that they even go to church if you see them walking around the streets. Point is, the invited speaker that night was a lady with a beautiful testimony. God has literally given her everything she currently has but she had to give up so many things and she had to wait so many years for all of these things. In the end it was totally worth it. She talked about God's time and asked us if we were living in God's time or if we were only living our own time. The time we live in. Letting our lives pass us by with no purpose to it. It's my time to synchronize with the kairos.

What time are you living in?

Those Dancing Days

I present to you, my latest musical obsession. I love the fact that it is an all girl band. The lyrics to this song are great. Also, I love how this music video portrays the silliness and beauty of friendship.

Brb, finally using the iTunes gift card I got for my birthday in October :D

double exposure

So I got a Diana Mini for Christmas and I just now looked for my prints at Costco. It was my first time so I wasn't expecting the pictures to be amazing but I kind of liked some of them. I'll eventually get better at this ;)

double exposure FTW! :D

A dream come true

I recently realized that dreams really do come true. On March 5th, I met one of my favorite bands. Not only did I meet Paramore, but I also got to see them live in concert. I sang every single word to every single song. I danced and head banged all night long with my best friend. It was a surreal experience! I still can't believe that it happened. I had dreamed of this night before. My dreams became a reality. The best part is that I got to share it with my best bud. My neck did hurt the day after the concert, but it was worth it. I truly had a great night.

On other news, I want to rearrange my life. I want to focus on what's really important. I received a letter from a pretty little girl with a smile who I happen to miss a lot. It was a wake up call. Changes must be made. Don't worry, I'm making it work. I really am.

Brain Dead

I took the College Board yesterday for the first time and I can't think straight. I'm not very fond of sitting in a classroom for hours taking tests on different subjects in a random school with the coldness of an A/C pointing directly to me. So let's just say I can't think properly right now. The tests actually went pretty well. The math part is what I'm not so sure about. I did most of the math problems by logic. Anyway, I took this just to see how it was and all. I will most likely take it again in October. I think I'll be more prepared by then.

My week went pretty well. On Thursday I went to my school's retreat. It was okay. The best part was probably the fact that one of my favorite christian bands played there. It was my second time seeing the band, Radial.
That Friday, only eight people from my class attended school. It was nice 'cause we just spent the day making videos, sleeping, singing and watching movies (:

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!
To me, it was just another Monday. I went to school, slept and handed out some Beamers to the kids at school. I did receive one from my best friend. Since he now has a girlfriend we've drifted apart. I know he needs time with his girl, but he needs to remember that I am still in his life and he can't just leave me hanging. Or maybe I'm just being selfish? Either way, we still talk but not as much as we used to. His beamer was really nice though.

I would say that Valentine's Weekend was ten times better than Valentine's Day. I got to spend my weekend with friends. On Saturday, I met up with the friends I don't always get to see. In fact, I hadn't seen them since December 26th. Sunday was spent with friends I might see on a regular basis, but rarely get to spend quality time with. I saw a total of three movies this weekend: The Roommate, Uncertainty (for the second time) and It's Kind of a Funny Story, which was great! I had no idea that the movie was based on a book. So that book will definitely be added to my list.

I'm pretty sure that the reason why my Valentine's Day didn't feel as special is because I don't have that special someone yet. I know I'm still young, and it really doesn't bother me much. But when you see so many people around you feeling something for someone, it gets kind of stressful. Knowing that you don't even have a person you're getting to know. Anyway, enough for this typical teenage "dilemma". I hope you all had a great day! :)

Strive for Education

Today I was sitting in a doctor’s office, waiting to be called. As I sat there images of what happened today (at the University of Puerto Rico) were all over the news. I saw how the police treated UPR students with disrespect and dragged them into vans as if they were animals. These students are fighting for justice, for the future of their children, for education. I kept thinking about the people I know who study there and at UHS. I thought of how scary this situation might be for them. All I’m really saying is that I just feel sorry for how ignorant I used to be about this whole situation. I've never really cared for politics. I really don’t know if I will be a UPR student in the future or not but what’s going on has definitely made me feel some kind of love towards all these students and what they’ve been through. Even though I wasn't born here, lately I've been feeling so proud of where I live. The crime rate over here is crazy and the government is too. I just hope things get better.

I think I'm back!

WOW! It's been so long since I last logged in here. I can't believe how I've abandoned this place. My last post was a year ago! But what can I say? I tend to be a really lazy person and I have a journal where I write everything down.

Enough for excuses, I really want to start blogging again. Yes, I do have a Tumblr and I log in there everyday but I want to make a change. I want to tell you guys about my life. I want to keep you updated y quiero desempolvar esta página vacía. (I really couldn't find a way to translate that thought.) I'm really sorry that I've abandoned this blog. Changes will be made to this page and I want to see if I actually get some new followers on here! I'm sure school stress might get to me and there'll be days were I won't post anything, but I want to try my best.

Friends, I AM BACK!

;)
